Since 1880, the French celebrate their National Day on the 14 th of July. It is the date of the Storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution of 1789, but also of the “Fête de la fédération” of 1790, affirming the French unity around a new political regime after this historical period. Today, in France, this commemoration is the occasion to gather for festivities. In Paris, a military parade and a concert at the Eiffel Tower are organized. There are fireworks throughout the country as well as many “popular balls”. But the 14 th of July is not only celebrated in France! For this event and the Franco-German friendship, a party is organized on the Pariser Platz in Berlin, at the Brandenburg Gate. On Saturday,15 th , and Sunday,16 th of July, you can enjoy the week-end with your friends or family thanks to many activities. Musicians – Imany, General Elektriks, the “Bagad de Lann- Bihoué”, … – will perform. There will be food stands to discover or rediscover French dishes.
